Our Activities

Our research is a long-term investment in securing the required expert knowledge and scientific-technical competencies for the field of cyberdefence. We are committed to the highest international standards and offer a world-class research environment that provides extensive resources to a wide range of researchers and that is an attractive destination for Switzerland’s cyber talents.

The CYD Campus promotes a culture of innovation that brings proven startup methods to the public administration. We are doing everything we can to make our armed forces digitally innovative and our country digitally secure for the future. We see ourselves as an agile innovation force that brings technology innovation quickly to the field.

We identify new technologies and companies in Switzerland and abroad that meet the requirements of the Federal administration through an international scouting. This activity is primarily aimed at finding emerging companies (startups), but sometimes also established companies that are developing innovative products are considered.

We test the security of digital products and networked infrastructures that are being procured for highly critical applications at the federal government. The increasing digitalization of the civil and military part of the government leads to a steadily growing cyber risk to our society. Switzerland’s security and independence are particularly in danger when insecure cyber-physical components are used in critical infrastructures. Independent, in-depth security testing of critical infrastructures and their components is therefore what we do.

In today’s digital landscape, cyber threats, which harness the latest digital technologies, evolve at an unprecedented speed. Keeping up with the latest threat intelligence and assessing their potential impact is challenging.

As a reaction to the increasing complexity of cyber security at national level, we have been tasked with the pilot project «Cyber Training @ Cyber-Defence Campus». The goal of the project is to bring together various organisations of national significance as a community and to be able to provide them with a sound cyber training offer.
