Lucrative Innovation Day of the Cyber-Defence Campus

The Cyber Defence Campus organized an Innovation Day for stakeholders from the Confederation and cantons on 15 May 2024. This was very well received: over 100 participants took part in the event.

The Cyber-Defence Campus drives innovation in the field of cyber defense. In doing so, it supports various partners at federal and cantonal level. The CYD Campus held the Innovation Day for the first time and presented important innovative developments for the defense sector.

On May 15, 2024, the Cyber-Defence Campus held its first Innovation Day in Bern. Participants included interested individuals from the Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) as well as universities and industry. The invited speakers presented their findings. The presentations covered topics such as confidential computing, presented by Pirmin Heinzer from the Federal Office for Cyber Security (BACS), and Internet of Things (IoT) security, presented by Alexandre Marmy from armasuisse Real Estate and Florian Lukaysky from the cybersecurity company ONEKEY. Furthermore, Dr. Roland Meier from the Cyber-Defence Campus, together with Patrick Heep from Noser Engineering, presented the topic «Secure communication with Threema via Scalability, Control and Isolation on next-generation Networks (SCION)». There was also a presentation on high-speed network analysis by Lucas Crijns, also from the Cyber-Defence Campus.

Event with a focus on innovation projects

The aim of the Innovation Day was to present a selection of innovation projects that illustrate how the Cyber-Defence Campus supports various areas of the Confederation and the cantons. The Cyber-Defence Campus innovation program focuses on the development of proof of concepts to test emerging technologies while building expertise in new future-oriented technologies. Participants appreciated the opportunity to gain insights into various technological developments in the cyber domain. The CYD Campus will therefore continue to organize events with an innovation focus in the future.

The Cyber-Defence Campus actively supports the offices of the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) in testing and implementing new technologies.
